What does end up on your device

If you switch theme or change language, we remember that choice in your browser's localStorage. That's not a cookie: it never goes to our server, we can't read it, and it disappears the moment you clear your browsing data.

Under Dutch and EU law that's allowed without consent, because it's strictly necessary to deliver what you asked for yourself — namely: remembering that you want dark mode.

Why this matters

We're building cookieless visitor analytics ourselves. A site that tracks its own visitors with cookies can't sell that product with a straight face. Since 31 July 2026 we measure this site with that very product — and there is still no cookie and no banner. So this site is no longer just the argument, it's the proof.

Want to check?

Open your browser's developer tools (F12), Application or Storage tab. You'll find no cookies from us, and no localStorage key other than your own theme and language choice.

Check the Network tab too. You'll see exactly one address that isn't vyniq.eu: v.vyniq.dev. That's our own measurement server — it serves the measurement script and receives the page view. Beyond that, not a single request goes to another domain, and that isn't just a promise: this page's security rules (Content-Security-Policy) allow no other host, so your browser would block such a request itself.
